This Quiet Place In My Heart
mornings, evenings, days that hurried past
dreams that should have lasted
moments, hours
slipping by as we
told each other secrets
somehow I'll never let go of the memories
something always seems to remind me
of how it was, of what it was
when it was, all there was
laughter, love songs, footsteps that I hear
make me think you're near me
poems, pictures, letters never mailed
boats that never sailed
remember that even though we can't be together
we're more for having loved one another
we shared the sky, we learned to fly
someday when someone else's arms are around us
when time has put some distance between us
the years will kindly show
how memories come and go
they ebb and flow like the tides
there are quiet places in my heart
ever since we've parted
gentle, tender
traces of a song
places that belong to you
dreams that should have lasted
moments, hours
slipping by as we
told each other secrets
somehow I'll never let go of the memories
something always seems to remind me
of how it was, of what it was
when it was, all there was
laughter, love songs, footsteps that I hear
make me think you're near me

someday when someone else's arms are around us
when time has put some distance between us
the years will kindly show

Entering Into Great Silence
Therefore, I will allure her,
bring her into the wilderness;
and speak tenderly to her.
bring her into the wilderness;
and speak tenderly to her.

Basilica of the Holy Cross of the Valley of the Fallen
The Valle de los Caídos "Valley of the Fallen" is a Catholic basilica and a monumental memorial in the municipality of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, near Madrid, conceived by Spanish general Francisco Franco to honor and bury those who fell during the Spanish Civil War.
In 1960, Pope John XXIII declared the underground crypt a basilica. The dimensions of this underground basilica, as excavated, are larger than those of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.
The visit to the Valley of the Fallen, including Basilica and Benedictine Abbey, was an unexpected precious memory.
Sometimes, Life rewarded us with beautiful dreams of love...

Sweet Avila
The writer José Martínez Ruiz, in his book El alma castellana (The Castilian Soul), described it as "perhaps the most 16th century city in Spain", and it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.
Avila loves me... :)

Sweet Avila III ~ A Kiss
When that season passed,
lovers stepped out of us.
The image of love reveals itself;
in a profoundly present absence.

Sweet Avila II ~ Memory
remembering is the absent chatting with the absent.
the distance turning toward the distance.
love allows distance to recede,
as if looking into a poetic dream;
listening intently to one sound only:
the sound of the wind.
perhaps...remembering is the sound of the wind.

Rest With Your Dream In My Dream
Ya eres mía. Reposa con tu sueño en mi sueño.
Amor, dolor, trabajos, deben dormir ahora.

In the center of the plaza is a monument to Spanish novelist, poet and playwright Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, which overlooks bronze sculptures of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. Next to the tower, there are two stone representations of Don Quixote's "true love", one as the simple peasant woman Aldonza Lorenzo, and one as the beautiful, imaginary Dulcinea del Toboso.
